Brendan Knox headed to the SEC
Spartanburg Methodist's Brendan Knox is headed to Auburn. Knox a 6'10 Center who prepped at Georgetown High School averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds per game last season but the most impressive part of the defensive specialists game is his ability to block shots. He blocked 168 shots in 32 games for an impressive 5.25 blocks per game average.
Khris Middleton Commits
Looks like one of South Carolina's fastest rising prospects is headed out of state. According to multiple sources Khris Middleton (Porter-Gaud) has committed to Texas A & M. The 6'7 rising senior has seen his stock rise dramatically this spring after strong performances at several AAU tournaments.
Middleton is the the latest player in the class of 2009 to make a commitment. Previously Milton Jennings (Pinewood Prep) and Devin Booker (Union County) committed to Clemson.

Coaching News
Looks like there are at least two coaching searches still going on as we approach June. South Aiken and Stratford are searching for coaches after late departures by Matt Colin and Randy Tucker.
South Aiken has been been a competitive AAAA program and should benefit from being reclassified as a AAA school this year despite losing All-State guard Bucky Washington. Stratford, on the other hand, has struggled recently to be competitive on the hardwood
Word on the street is that both searches are limited in scope to coaches that will fit into certain teaching slots and other responsibilities at the school and that several promising candidates for both have withdrawn or been eliminated because they did not fit that criteria.

SC Players at Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions
Milton Jennings, Khris Middleton, and Eric Smith were named to the All Tournament Team. Jennings and Middleton played in the 17-U division while Smith competed in the 16-U tournament.
